Pakistan Gold Rates Drop as 24k Tola Slips Rs 3,600 to Rs 465,536

Gold prices in Pakistan witnessed a sharp decline on Saturday, reflecting a downward trend in global bullion markets. The price of 24-karat gold plunged by Rs 3,600 per tola to settle at Rs 465,536, offering slight relief to local buyers.

Gold rates in Pakistan posted a significant correction on Saturday as global spot prices cooled off. According to figures released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), 24-karat gold plunged by Rs 3,600 per tola to settle at Rs 465,536. Similarly, 10 grams of 24-karat gold saw a price drop of Rs 3,086 to reach Rs 399,122, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold decreased by Rs 2,829 to close at Rs 365,875.

Local Sarafa Market Impact

The domestic Sarafa market continues to track broader international market movements alongside local currency dynamics. While domestic inflation and economic uncertainty keep retail demand cautious, the drop in bullion prices provides a modest respite for prospective jewellery buyers and seasonal investors across major cities like Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. Silver prices in the local market also followed the downward momentum, with per tola silver easing by Rs 63 to Rs 7,098 and 10 grams dropping by Rs 54 to Rs 6,085.

International Gold Trends

The weakness in domestic gold stems primarily from overseas bullion markets, where international spot gold slipped by $36 to settle at $4,430 per ounce. Traders and institutional investors adjusted their positions amidst shifts in global macroeconomic indicators and expectations surrounding Federal Reserve monetary policy. International silver also pulled back by $0.63 to trade at $66.19 per ounce, reflecting broader market profit-taking across precious metals.

Summary for Buyers and Investors

For buyers and short-term investors in Pakistan, price pullbacks like today's offer tactical buying opportunities during market consolidations. While long-term fundamentals for gold remain supported by geopolitical hedging, market participants are advised to monitor international spot trends and PKR movements before committing large capital to physical gold or bullion instruments.
